The Child & Youth Services Safe Place Assistant supports the Safe Place program by helping ensure youth in crisis have access to safe, supportive resources in the community. This position works collaboratively with the Safe Place Coordinator, program staff, volunteers, schools, businesses, and community organizations to maintain Safe Place sites, provide outreach and education, and assist with crisis response when needed. Responsibilities include recruiting and training volunteers and community partners, conducting presentations, maintaining program records, supporting community engagement efforts, and helping implement program goals. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work with youth in emotionally sensitive situations while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.  

   

20 Hours per week  

M-F 1:00 pm - 5:00 PM   

Location: Palmyra, IN  

   

Education and Experience Requirements:  

An Associate’s degree is preferred. A high school diploma (or equivalent) with at least one year of experience working with youth and/or collaborating with diverse populations is required.
