Job Summary/Purpose

The Childcare Provider is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children ranging in age from infants to preschoolers. This role involves supporting physical, emotional, social, and cognitive development through structured activities, free play, and personalized care tailored to age and developmental stage.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  • Providing classroom support and break coverage as needed.
  • Monitoring and verifying identification of adults picking up children.
  • Communicating messages between parents, teachers, and management.
  • Maintaining confidentiality of all information and communications.
  • Serving as the primary front desk contact during afternoon pick-up hours.
  • Ensuring the building is secure at closing, including checking that classroom lights are turned off and completing basic end-of-day building checks.

·         Supervise and ensure the safety and well-being of children in the assigned age group

·         Develop and implement age-appropriate daily activities that promote learning and development

·         Feed, diaper, and attend to the hygiene needs of infants and toddlers following all health and safety protocols

·         Able to hear: Infants cry or choke; Children call for assistance; Intercom messages (Emergency Procedure Notification) over noises of children; Doors open

·         Maintain open and positive communication with parents and guardians, providing daily updates and addressing concerns

·         Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment

·         Encourage positive behavior and social interaction through appropriate guidance techniques

·         Maintain accurate records of each child’s development, attendance, and incidents

·         Ensure cleanliness and organization of classroom areas and shared spaces

·         Follow all licensing regulations, center policies, and emergency procedures

·         Support transitions between activities and assist children in adapting to routines

·         Collaborate with other staff and participate in team meetings and training sessions

 

Role Minimum Qualifications

 

Required Education

·         High School Diploma or equivalent

 

Required Licensure and Certifications                -Post Hire

  • BLS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·         Patience, compassion, and a love for working with children

·         Knowledge of developmental milestones and best practices in early childhood care

·         Ability to multitask and respond quickly in a fast-paced environment

·         Dependability and commitment to safety and consistency

·         Ability to work effectively as part of a team

 

Preferred Qualifications

· 1–2 years of experience in a licensed childcare center or similar setting

·  Experience working with both infant and preschool-aged children

Education Requirements (All)
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR EQUIVALENT
