Catholic Charities of Louisville (CCL) is the social-service arm of the Archdiocese of Louisville (ADOL). We provide help and create hope for the poor and vulnerable through a wide range of programs, assisting clients of all races, backgrounds and beliefs. Our service area includes 24 counties throughout Central Kentucky.


GENERAL SUMMARY:

St. Vincent de Paul Outreach Ministries (SVDP) is a program within Catholic Charities of Louisville that operates a thrift store, hunger relief efforts, and rental assistance program in Nelson County, Kentucky. This position reports directly to the Catholic Charities Chief Programs Officer for Community Outreach Services. The SVDP Director is responsible for all administrative and operational aspects of SVDP, ensuring that its overall goal and mission is accomplished – to carry on the history of service by the Catholic Church, meeting the needs of neighborhood residents with compassion.

The SVDP Director collaborates and coordinates services with other programs of Catholic Charities, as well as with Finance and Advancement (Development, Communications, and Mission) departments. S/he develops and maintains working relationships with related service providers, other entities in Nelson County, and the wider community to assess and meet the needs of SVDP clients and Nelson County residents generally. S/he proposes new projects and partnerships to the leadership of Catholic Charities to address unmet community needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND TASKS:

  1. Oversee all operations, services, and financial assistance provision at SVDP to include management and coordination of operational activities for the agency including employee management, volunteer engagement, food pantry, client assistance, and store operations.
  2. Represent Catholic Charities in engaging the community in the Nelson County Community.
  3. Be the face of SVDP in the Nelson County community.  Community-facing work often happens outside regular business hours on weekends and evenings.
  4. Through a collaborative process with CCL’s Finance department and SVDP store and pantry leadership, develop an annual operating budget for the program.
  5. Attend all SVDP Advisory Council meetings. Assist the Council in generating public support for SVDP. Provide the SVDP Advisory Council with timely and accurate operational and financial information.
  6. Work closely with CCL’s Advancement department to enhance program visibility, increase donor and volunteer engagement, and increase public support from the Catholic community and broader community.
  7. Work closely with Finance Department to manage SVDP annual budget, track in-kind donations, and comply with funding requirements.
  8. Develop, maintain, and update program protocols and standard operating procedures consistent with Catholic Charities policies and grantor requirements. 
  9. Oversee staff and volunteers under his/her direction to ensure regular audits of physical and electronic client case files for compliance with funding source guidelines and requirements. 
  10. Through community engagement and client interaction, identify gaps in service and propose new projects and partnerships to address unmet needs.
  11. Develop annual goals for SVDP and measure progress against goals.
  12. All other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree is required; Master of Social Work or equivalent degree preferred.

Practicing Catholics preferred.
