Job Summary/Purpose

The Physician provides high-quality, compassionate, and evidence-based care to patients in a Rural Health Clinic (RHC) specialty clinic setting. This role involves diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions within their area of specialty, coordinating with other providers, and ensuring compliance with all clinical, regulatory, and operational standards specific to RHCs.

 

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

·        Deliver direct patient care in accordance with the standards of medical practice and professional ethics.

·        Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients in a specialty clinic setting.

·        Order and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and recommend treatment plans.

·        Collaborate with nursing staff, ancillary services, and other providers to deliver coordinated care.

·        Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, health promotion, and disease prevention.

·        Document all patient encounters thoroughly and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR).

·        Ensure compliance with Rural Health Clinic (RHC) guidelines and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

·        Participate in quality improvement activities and performance metrics related to patient outcomes and clinic efficiency.

·        Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to mid-level providers (e.g., APRNs, PAs), if applicable.
