Job Summary: 
Performs laboratory tests and associated support work as directed by the Lab Manager and COO. Assists the lab Manager with the supervision of all technical aspects of the laboratory, including, but not limited to serving as the manager in his/her absence. Oversees all aspects of in-house HMH Physician Office Labs (POL) waived testing. Supports, cooperates and communicates professionally with the HMH team of medical and nursing staff, and all hospital personnel. 
 
Requirements: 
 
• Previous supervisory experience in a clinical laboratory preferred with proven leadership abilities. 
• Certified as a MT from a national certifying agency (ASCP, ANA, or HSS) 
• MT (ASCP or equivalent) 
• Must provide copy of diploma or transcript 
• Minimum 5 years experience in a full service clinical lab preferred. 
• Previous supervisory experience preferred, but experienced technologists will be considered. 
• Addresses the needs of the department. 
• Must be available to staff at all times. 
• Follows oral and written instructions and cooperates well with others. 
• Initiative, accuracy, and judgment needed to determine the needs of the Laboratory. 
• Excellent communication skills. 
• Ability to independently make sound clinical decisions based on patient condition and lab results. 
• Excellent computer skills and ability to develop and present educational in-services. 
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload and work independently. 
• Ability to meet deadlines. 
• Ability to provide instructions by phone. 
• Excellent customer service.
