Prepares salads, desserts, drinks, etc. for patient meal service according to defined recipes and menus for customers as written by the dietary manager. The Dietary Aide prepares all foods under safe and sanitary conditions. The Dietary Aide prepares food in a timely manner according to recipes to produce the best quality product. The dietary aide scheduled for the patient tray line is responsible for preparing food items and fills patients’ meal tray according to menu and dietary restrictions. The Dietary Aide scheduled for the cafeteria is responsible for preparing food items as defined by the menu and following the tasks list as outlined below. Perform daily cleaning as assigned. Complete all forms as designated (e.g., sanitizer solution, storeroom, dish machine temperatures and refrigeration monitors.) 

 

Required Education, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.
  • Food Handler's permit required within 3 months of hire.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Must have excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to follow both written and verbal instructions.
  • Will be responsible for meal preparation of both cafeteria and patient meal service.
  • May be required to handle money and count cash at the end of the shift.
  • Will be responsible for cleanup and closing kitchen at end of shift.
  • Must be able to learn multiple positions within the department.

This job reports to the Department Manager
this is a Full-Time position 1st Shift, Hours vary between 5:00 A.M. and 7:30 P.M. Rotate weekends and holidays.
