Job Summary/Purpose
The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a strategic advisor to operational and clinical leaders, ensuring departmental workforce practices meet TJC standards, support patient safety, and foster a compliant, engaged workforce. The HRBP plays a critical role in competency validation processes, performance management, and survey readiness at the department level.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
· Partner with department directors and managers to ensure workforce qualification, orientation, and competence requirements are defined and met.
· Facilitate workforce planning to align staffing with patient census, acuity, and service demands.
· Support leaders by ensuring all employees and contracted staff meet licensure and competency requirements prior to providing patient care.
· Ensure departmental staff files and electronic records reflect TJC-required documentation:
· Participate in mock surveys and unit-level tracers to ensure ongoing readiness.
· Escalate gaps or deficiencies to HR leadership with remediation plans.
· Coach leaders on consistent application of policies and corrective action processes aligned with regulatory and legal standards.
· Conduct investigations, coordinate with Compliance, and ensure documentation aligns with EEOC and labor law.
· Support the implementation of performance appraisal systems that align with TJC ensuring staff competence is regularly evaluated and documented.
· Assist in ensuring competencies are role-specific, measurable, and validated annually.
· Conduct periodic audits of department-level files to ensure continuous compliance.
· Provide departmental leaders with compliance dashboards and reports to support survey preparation.
