Security Officer responsibilities include the following:
- Alarm monitoring dispatching, dispositioning and archiving security and fire alarms; controlling and directing daily routine activities for security and fire personnel and affect command/control procedures for emergencies.
- Monitoring and operating Closed Circuit TV (CCTV), video systems, alarm receiving equipment and integrated access control systems.
- Operates both security and fire alarm monitoring systems, operating/monitoring communications equipment, logging shift activities, monitoring surveillance and intrusion monitors, alarms and camera systems, processing required reports and making appropriate notifications.
- Uses communication equipment to include, but not limited to, two-way radio communications, telephone systems, security phone, and computer equipment.
- Makes emergency response notifications and dispatches for all site emergencies in accordance with established procedures.
- May include after-hours dispatching of facilities personnel and contractors responsible for communication/video technology.
- Maintains all logs, reviewing and writing reports for incidents and emergencies utilizing a Significant Events Log during assigned shift.
- Monitor various news outlets and intelligence software for crisis/weather/ emergencies and notify proper personnel.
- Monitor corporate travel
Qualifications include the following:
- Must be a citizen of the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to pass drug screen and background check
- Must have and maintain a Security Officer certification for the state in which assigned
- Must be able to multitask
- Must have customer service experience
- Ability to navigate multiple computer apps
- 1-2 years of security or security related work experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Decision making skills
- Ability to think clearly during crisis or high stress periods
- Must be reliable, have a positive attitude, and uphold ethical behavior. in CCTV operations
- Supervisors must have at least one year of supervisory experience
